    Add to my calendar Greetings!

A 2010 Gallup poll ranked Memphis No. 1 for hunger in the nation. Other studies rank Memphis among the cities with the highest obesity rates in the nation. The link between poverty, hunger and obesity in the US has been clearly established. We have a public health crisis in Memphis and Shelby County, and it's related to food.
Join Chris Peterson, Executive Director of Grow Memphis, and Aury Kangelos, city planner and co-creator of "the Green Machine," to discuss the current state of food policy and security in Memphis.  Learn about the important work of the Food Advisory Council and new initiatives that have been created to increase access to healthy food in our local food economy, including mobile food markets and the Million Calorie Reduction Match.
Thank you to Healthy Memphis Common Table for sponsoring this event and providing delicious salads at our gathering!
