    National Civil Rights Museum To Hold Freedom Award Events

    (Memphis) The National Civil Rights Museum hold its annual Freedom Award Ceremony today.

    It is the museum’s largest fundraiser.

    The public forum was held at Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ on G.E. Patterson.

    This year’s honorees, Marlo Thomas with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, civil rights leader Bernard Lafayette and Muhammad Yunus, who pioneered banking in impoverished countries, will all be there.

    Legacy award honorees, the Three Doctors, will also be on hand for the forum.

    Tonight’s Freedom Award Ceremony will be held at the Cannon Center.

    Holly Robinson Peete will emcee the event, and Grammy award-winning singer Patti Labelle will perform.
