Education
We’re working to give every child in Memphis access to a high-quality education.
We believe in the next generation and in the power of education to transform lives. That’s why we’re committed to supporting student success and closing the achievement gap by supporting high-performing schools, efforts to recruit, grow and retain top teacher and leader talent, and to secure favorable policies and conditions for students to thrive.
Funding Priorities
Boosting student success
We invest in efforts to improve the quality of curriculum and instruction, especially in early literacy and math, and to provide additional learning resources and time. We seek solutions to systemic barriers to achievement including reducing chronic absenteeism and enhancing school culture.
Supporting successful schools
We support successful schools of all types and initiatives that can deliver improved student outcomes and achievement. We work with community advocates, parents and teachers to support a strong education ecosystem that prioritizes student success.
Recruiting, retaining and supporting talent
We support efforts to recruit and retain high-quality teachers, build and strengthen the pipeline of school leaders and provide support, coaching and professional development.
