Overton Park Conservancy Names New Director
From The Daily Memphian:
The Overton Park Conservancy’s deputy executive director Kaci Murley is the new executive director of the nonprofit that oversees the city-owned park under contract with the City of Memphis.
Murley’s promotion was announced Thursday, Aug. 22, by the OPC board.
Founding executive director Tina Sullivan announced in June she was leaving the leadership role she has held since 2012.
Murley has been deputy executive director since 2019, where her duties included long-range planning, fundraising and strategic leadership.
She was also part of the development of the park’s first comprehensive planning effort in three decades.
Sullivan leaves the role, and Murley begins her tenure as the capital improvements in the long-range plan enter their second phase including a refurbishment of the park Greensward to include a walking trail and a makeover of Rainbow Lake.
The next phase also includes planning for additional acreage and trails that will be added to the state-protected Old Forest Natural Area that OPC runs under contract with the state.
