Shelby Farms Greenline extending eastward
From The Daily Memphian:
Almost from the day it opened, the Shelby Farms Greenline has been a part of Landon Blankenship’s life.
When the weather cooperates, he often rides his bike on the asphalt trail from its starting point in Binghampton to his job on Germantown Parkway, a ride that usually takes about an hour. Other times, he takes to the trail for fun on one of his bikes.
That’s why Blankenship was excited to learn the greenline, currently at 10.65 miles, will stretch another 2.29 miles eastward from its current terminus at the old Cordova train station, bringing the total path to nearly 13 miles. Work on the new section began in mid-September, and it’s expected to take a year to complete.
